There are two primary avenues for financial services firms to get paid: sales-based fees and flat dollar or percentage of asset fees. The first fee structure is based on commissions that are paid to financial service professionals for selling or trading certain products. The second fee structure is based on the services provided, independent of the products used. While there are qualified professionals using both fee structures, we believe that the transparency provided by the flat fee structure allows Stratus to focus on what is best for our clients as opposed to having to think about which products we should sell.
